Inventory
In today's market, where a customer's first two questions are: "Do
you have it in stock?" and "When can I get it?",
you have two choices. Either use an inventory management system
that is fully integrated with all your business processes or hope your
competition doesn't.
The Directions software contains a inventory management system
that is tied directly into your other processes such as order entry, purchasing,
shipping, returns, etc. To take the guess work out of your inventory
management, Directions does the following:
- Controls inventory by using real-time inventory allocation during
order entry. This feature allows your operator to have access
to current inventory availability while taking an order.
- Automatically back orders and ships items that are out of stock.
In the event that all items are not available, your customer can choose
to hold the order and ship complete or ship the items as they become
available.
- Projects inventory using one of the two available methods.
One of these two methods will help to ensure accurate stocking levels:
- Based on a percentage of orders entered in previous weeks. Is this item trending up or down?
Based on marketing projections, is it trending up or down?
- Determined using a comparative analysis of similar selling periods. Is this item up or down
comared to last year?
